Is Clinical Research Right for My Medical Practice?

Aug 28
1 min read

Clinical research can offer physicians an opportunity to contribute to medical advances, provide patients access to investigational treatment options, and introduce an additional source of practice revenue.

But how do you know whether it's right for your practice?

Five Questions Worth Asking

1. Do I see patients who might qualify for clinical trials?

Your patient population is one of the most important factors sponsors consider when selecting research sites.

2. Am I interested in participating in research?

Clinical trials require physician engagement, medical oversight, and a commitment to following study protocols.

3. Can research fit into my existing practice?

Consider patient scheduling, available space, clinical resources, and the time you can devote to investigator responsibilities.

4. Do I have research support?

You don't necessarily need an in-house research department. An experienced Site Management Organization (SMO) can provide coordinators, regulatory support, and research infrastructure.

5. Are appropriate studies available?

Not every trial will fit your specialty or patient population. Finding the right opportunity is essential.
